Regarding Updates Of Shahzada Site

Greetings,

Over the course of the last dozen or so years, the Shahzada site has evolved and changed to reflect the needs and requirements of the ride and of you, the rider, the strapper, the "cheer squad", the casual observer or the visitor to our site.

To that end we have always tried to adapt the site or make changes to your benefit and to present as much information as we can in as timely a manner as possible.

Over time, where I live has changed as well as my work load.  I now live in Hay, which you'll agree is a long way from St. Albans.  This means my exposure and ability to interact with Committee members is restricted at best. Additionally, I am now back driving trucks on interstate, thus meaning the time I have available to do anything on the site is severely limited. At this point it is virtually impossible for me to devote any time at all to the site. This has been the case for a considerable period.  However, nothing is insurmountable and, as you will see below, we are working hard to ensure that you get the value from this site and from Shahzada generally.

Due to changes in the lives of the volunteers that make Shahzada possible, we have created "work arounds" or adaptations to allow you to continue to get the maximum benefit from your experience on the Shahzada web site. One of those changes has been that Ross Mudie, the champion that he is, has managed, somehow, to incorporate daily updates on the site during the event.  This has been possible because he has obtained and paid for the shahzadaresults site and continues to maintain that site. He is able to access and update that site directly from St. Albans, thus you get the results of the day's happening, that evening.  He is so good at it that it is almost "live".  This is a tremendous effort and Ross should be congratulated on his efforts on your behalf.

Ross also includes all the "pre flight" information on that site, so you should check in regularly in the weeks and months leading up to the event.  For instance, as of this date (29th March 2008, 15:15 hrs), Ross already has information on that site regarding Shahzada 2008!  Talk about service!

As you can see, my ability to continually check the links and such are limited, so I am asking you people to assist me in this regard.  It is important that Shahzada web site continues to provide that which is of importance to you.  I ask that, should you encounter a broken link or anything else that needs to be amended, please contact me on either this email address or at this one if the first one fails for any reason.

I thank you for your support over the years and I urge you to assist me in maintaining this site to the best of my ability and to ensure it is of a suitable standard.  I will continue to have as much input as I possibly can and trust that it continues to provide the services you require.

I also wish to publicly thank Ross Mudie for all his efforts over the years, particularly in relieving me of the workload of day to day updates with his shahzadaresults site.  It has been a real bonus, I can tell you.  I thank also his family for allowing him the time to do this as I know it is extremely time consuming and can easily draw away from necessary family functions and the like.

Lastly, I wish to thank the Shahzada Committee, in all its manifestations over the years, for providing information for the site.  I thank them also, on behalf of you, the riders, strappers, "hangers on", spectators, visitors and other interested parties for without the extraordinary commitment in time, resources, blood, sweat and tears, Shahzada just wouldn't happen and this web site would be irrelevant. I am not sure if you all have any conception in the countless hours involved in the pre-planning, commencing immediately after the previous Shahzada, alone.  Then there are the worries that are heaped upon them with each successive week until it culminates in what you see at the event.

That these people do this for you, for the love of the sport alone is almost incomprehensible.  Bravo Ross Mudie and the Shahzada Committee. I salute you on behalf of all those who have benefited as a result of your toil.

Last but not least, if you're interested in looking at some site statistics, you can view them by going to this link. Some of them make interesting reading.

                Kindest regards

                Indy Rosser - Webmaster
